Darryl J. Williams is one of the premier voices of our time. A global tenor, the Grammy winner has performed in 125 countries and 5 Continents. 

Darryl’s career began at an early age in the local churches of Jasper County, S.C. 

He was a childhood prodigy who played piano at an early age and served As the Minister of music for several of the Low Country Churches and the Mount Carmel Baptist Convention. 

Williams was a frequent radio singing voice on Sunday mornings in Savannah, Ga and became a regular Gospel singer on the Savannah radio.  This earned him a commission to teach choral music in his Junior year until graduation.  As he became a favorite at the James Cleveland Workshop Savannah Chapter he became a background singer for various gospel artists like Dorothy Norwood, Shirley Caesar, Andre Crouch, Dorinda Clark-Cole just to name a few. 

Williams worked in the Jasper County area as a Minister of Music and Community Organizer, where he created the Fellowship Mass Choir an 80 voice choir that served the community and surrounding areas. 

Williams graduated from Brevard College in Brevard, NC and was ordained as the Assistant Administrator of L.O.R.D. Ministries, with Dr. Willis Blake in Savannah, Ga. 

In Savannah Darryl won the American Traditions Soloist Competition! The competition garnered Williams a $10,000.00 purse and a tour of Western Europe with Queen Esther Marrow and the Harlem Gospel singers in which he performed for Saint John Paul II in Bologna, Italy. 

Williams has performed in such stage productions as Dreamgirls, Once on This Island, Aint Misbehavin, The Meeting, Singing in the Rain. 

Upon his return he toured the Americas with Motown Legend Gladys Knight in the Broadway hit ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’. The tour culminated in a residency at Ceasers Palace in Las Vegas. 

Williams moved to NYC and worked with such artists as Louis St. Louis, Charles Strouse, Brenda Braxton, Ken D. Ard, T.C. Carson, Nicole Sherzinger, and Phylicia Rashad in Central Park in the 40th Anniversary of the Broadway hit “The Wiz”. 

Darryl was the vocal arranger for Leslie Gore’s Cabaret at the very famous Fienstien’s in NYC.

Williams became a very sought after vocal arranger for artist like Gladys Knight, Leslie Gore and Sir. Andrew Lloyd Webber. Williams won rave reviews as the vocal arranger for Sir. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar Gospel in which he also won rave reviews as Judas! 

Williams has performed with Calgary Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, Houston Symphony, Allentown Symphony, Louisville Symphony, and The North Detroit Symphony in a tribute to Aretha Franklin! 

Darryl can be seen on P.B.S. singing background for Oscar Nominee Cynthia Erivo in “Live at Lincoln Center. 

Darryl has been currently touring the world from South Africa to South America, Headlining on some of the largest ships in the world with his own autobiographic show called, “The Mind of a Tenor”.  

Feb. 2023 Darryl received a Grammy award for his choral arrangement on Michael Buble’s tribute to Sam Cooke (Bring it Home),  on his Grammy award winning project “Higher”. Which garnered Buble “Best Traditional Pop Album”.
